今、ロンドンは春の花がきれいです。桜の花が咲いています。週末にグリニッジの公園に行きました。公園でいろいろな花を見ました。

グリニッジの公園の桜は有名です。花が咲くのは遅いです。4月の終わりぐらいです。この日は桜は見られませんでした。

その代わり、木蓮の花が満開でした。木蓮の花は大きいです。白い花とピンクの花があります。どちらもきれいで、大好きです。それから、椿も満開でした。

私は今まで、椿にはあまり思い入れがありませんでした。花が大き過ぎてバランスが悪いし、色が赤過ぎます。春の花にしては、重いです。

でも、グリニッジの椿を見て考えが変わりました。椿の木は高さが4メートルぐらいあってワイルドでした。上から下までピンクや赤の花がいっぱいで、見事でした。遠くから見ると薔薇みたいでした。
