She sleeps almost all day, every day. 部屋の窓から近所の猫が見えました。近所の猫は屋根の上で寝ていました。ちょっと寒そうです。 I could see the neighbour's cat from the window in my room. The neighbour's cat was sleeping on the roof. She looked a bit cold.

Right now, the leaves are red. 美術館のレストランで昼ご飯を食べました。スープとパンを注文しました。赤いスープでした。おいしかったです。 I had lunch at the restaurant in the art museum. I ordered soup and bread. The soup was red, and it was delicious. それから、美術館に入って絵を見ました。今、デンマークのアンナ・アンカーという画家の特別展をやっています。絵の中の女の人は赤い服を着ていました。 Then I went inside the museum and looked at the paintings. They are currently holding a special exhibition of the Danish painter called Anna Ancher. The women in the paintings wore red dresses. 紅葉の赤。トマトスープの赤。洋服の赤。赤は秋らしい色ですね。美術館を出た後で少し散歩をしてから、赤いバスに乗ってうちに帰りました。 The red of the autumn leaves. The red of the tomato soup. The red of the clothes. I had breakfast at the café. イギリスの朝ご飯の中で一番好きなのはエッグ・ロワイヤルです。マフィンの上にスモークサーモンと卵がのっています。そして卵の上においしいソースがかかっています。 My favourite British breakfast is Egg Royale. It is smoked salmon and an egg on a muffin. And a delicious sauce is poured over the egg. カフェでエッグ・ロワイヤルとコーヒーを注文してから、本を読みました。 After ordering Egg Royale and coffee at the café, I read a book. カフェはだんだん混んできました。家族や友達とブランチを食べに来た人たちで、にぎやかでした。 The café gradually got busier. It was lively with people who had come for brunch with family or friends. このカフェはうちの近くじゃありません。息子をサッカーの試合に連れて行って、サッカー場の近くのカフェに入りました。 This café isn't near our house. I took my son to his football match and went into a café near the pitch. 夫は来ませんでした。前の日にメジャーリーグの野球を見るために夜遅くまで起きていたから、うちでゆっくりしていました。私は一人でのんりび朝ご飯を食べた後、息子のサッカーを後半から見に行きました。 My husband didn't come. He had stayed up late the night before to watch a Major League Baseball game, so he was resting at home. I had a relaxing breakfast by myself, then went to watch my son's football match from the second half.

It's a reality show on BBC. 先週、バーで友だちとお酒を飲みました。友達はTraitorsというテレビ番組の話をしていました。次の日、私もその番組を見てみました。おもしろくて、毎日毎日見ました。エピソードを全部見ました。 Last week, I had drinks with friends at a bar. They were talking about a TV programme called The traitors. The next day, I tried watching it too. It was interesting, I watched it every single day. I watched all the episodes. この番組には有名人がたくさん出ています。20人ぐらいいます。スコットランドのお城に行って、いっしょに生活します。グループの中に裏切り者が3人います。他の人は正直者です。 There are many celebrities on this programme. About twenty of them. They go to a castle in Scotland and live together. There are three traitors within the group. The others are faithful. Traitors は裏切り者を探すゲームです。毎晩会議をして裏切り者だとみんなが思う人を1人選びます。正直者なのに、裏切り者だと思われてしまった人はうちに帰らなければいけません。 The traitors is a game to find the traitors. Every night the players have a meeting and choose one person everyone thinks is a traitor. If someone is faithful but is voted out as a traitor, they have to leave. テレビを見ている人は裏切り者が誰かわかっています。かけひきを見るのがおもしろいし、お城の中なのでわくわくします。 The viewers watching the programme know who the traitors are. It's interesting to watch the psychological game, and it's exciting because it's set in a castle.

Starter Beginner Intermediate 最近、旅行をしました。ウェールズに行きました。私は山が好きです。 Recently, I went on a trip. I went to Wales. I like mountains. ウェールズのスノードンという山に行きました。山登りをしました。いい天気でした。山道を3時間歩きました。暑かったです。ジャケットを脱ぎました。フリースも脱ぎました。Tシャツになりました。 We went to a mountain in Wales called Snowdon. We went hiking. The weather was fine. We walked along the mountain path for three hours. It was hot. I took off my jacket. I took off my fleece too. I was wearing just a T-shirt. 山の一番上まで行きました。少し涼しかったです。頂上でサンドイッチを食べました。気持ちがよかったです。湖が見えました。秋の山は本当にきれいでした。  We went to the top of the mountain. It was a bit chilly. We ate sandwiches at the summit. It felt good. We could see a lake. The autumn mountains were truly beautiful. 山の上に着いた時は暑かったのに、昼ご飯を食べ終わった時には寒いと思いました。高い山の上で、少し雲が出てきていたんです。だんだん体が冷蔵庫みたいに冷たくなりました。 When we reached the top, it was hot, but by the time we finished lunch, I felt cold. We were high up on the mountain, and it started to get a bit cloudy. Gradually, my body got as cold as a fridge. 幸い、山の上にはカフェがあったので助かりました。広くて暖かいカフェでホットチョコレートを飲みました。体が暖かくなってから、ゆっくり山を降りました。秋の色を楽しみながら4時間かけて降りました。 Luckily, there was a café at the top, which was a relief. I had a hot chocolate in the spacious, warm café. Once my body warmed up, we slowly made our way down the mountain. We took four hours to go down, enjoying the autumn colours.

Short 先週の週末に旅行に行きました。木曜日と金曜日は仕事を休みました。長い週末を楽しみました。 Last weekend I went on a trip. I took Thursday and Friday off work. I enjoyed the long weekend. ロンドンから車で5時間ぐらいかかりました。遠かったです。サービスエリアで昼ご飯を食べました。 It took about five hours by car from London. It was a long way. We had lunch at a service station. しずかな村でゆっくりしました。山がきれいでした。山の上に行く電車がありました。 We relaxed in a quiet village. The mountains were beautiful. There was a train going up the mountain. おみやげの店がおもしろかったです。お店に竜がたくさんいました（ありました）。ここがどこか、わかりますか？ The souvenir shop was interesting. There were lots of dragons in the shop. Can you guess where this is?

I'm going to see a film. うちの近くに小さい映画館があります。この映画館で今週、日本のアニメをやっています。鬼滅の刃というアニメです。私は土曜日に家族と見に行きます。3人分の席を予約しました。 There's a small cinema near my place. This week, they're showing a Japanese anime there. It a anime called Demon Slayer. I'm going to watch it with my family on Saturday. I've booked seats for three. 英語の吹き替えの回と、英語の字幕の回があります。私は英語字幕の回を見に行きます。 There are screenings with English dubbing and screenings with English subtitles. I'm going to see the subtitled version. 1年半ぐらい前にこの映画館にジブリの「君たちはどう生きるか」を見に行きました。その日、間違えて英語の吹き替え版の回に行ってしまいました。英語だと、セリフかわからない所が多かったです。 About a year and a half ago, I went to this cinema to see Studio Ghibli's “The Boy and the Heron”. That day, I mistakenly went to the English dubbed version. With English, there were many parts where I couldn't understand the dialogue. でも、英語のセリフがよくわからない代わりに、アニメーションをじっくり見ることができました。すごい迫力でした。日本語のセリフを聞きながら見ていたら、あの迫力はわからなかったかもしれません。 But instead of struggling with the English lines, I was able to really focus on the animation. It was incredibly powerful. If I had been listening to the Japanese lines, I might not have felt that intensity. 吹き替え版を見ているお客さんは、字幕版を見る人よりも、笑い声やリアクションが大きいと思いました。みんなで一緒に楽しんでいる感じがして、けっこういい体験でした。 I thought the audience watching the dubbed version laughed and reacted more loudly than those watching the subtitled version. It felt like everyone was enjoying it together, which was quite a good experience. 土曜日に私たちが見る鬼滅の刃の英語字幕の回は満席になったようです。どんな人たちと一緒に見るのか、楽しみです。 It seems the English subtitled screening of Demon Slayer we're going to see on Saturday is now sold out. I'm looking forward to seeing what sort of people I'll be watching it with.

Starter Beginner Intermediate きのうロンドンのロイヤルアルバートホールで相撲を見ました。楽しかったです。 Yesterday I watched sumo at London's Royal Albert Hall. It was great fun. このイベントのために今週、日本からロンドンにお相撲さんが来ています。ニュースでお相撲さんがロンドンの町を歩いていました。 For this event, sumo wrestlers have come to London from Japan this week. I saw sumo wrestlers walking around London town on the news. 大きくて、きれいなきものを着ているから、おもしろいです。お相撲さんたちはロンドンで有名な場所に行ったり、パブでビールを飲んだり、買い物をしたりしています。自転車に乗っている人もいました！ They're big and wearing beautiful kimonos, so it's quite amusing. The sumo wrestlers are visiting famous places in London, drinking beer in pubs, and doing some shopping. Some were even riding bicycles! このイベントのチケットは高かったですが、行ってよかったです。お客さんは満員で、日本人じゃない、相撲ファンの人もとても多かったです。びっくりしました。 The tickets for this event were expensive, but I'm glad I went. The place was packed with audiences, and there were so many sumo fans who weren't Japanese. I was surprised. 毎日、相撲のインスタグラムやXが流れてきます。町や駅で相撲のポスターを見た人や、イベント会場のロイヤルアルバートホールの写真を投稿している人がたくさんいます。ロンドンの町でお相撲さんに会った人もいました。うらやましいです。 Every day, sumo-related posts appear on Instagram and X. Many people are sharing photos of sumo posters they've seen around town or at stations, or pictures of the event venue, the Royal Albert Hall. Some even encountered the sumo wrestlers in London. How lucky! お相撲さんがロンドンで観光している写真を見ていると、どうしてかわかりませんが、楽しくて幸せな気分になります。来年はフランスのパリで相撲が行われるそうです。相撲を見たことがない人はぜひ見てみてください。（SNSは＃sumolondonなどがおすすめです！） Looking at photos of the sumo wrestlers sightseeing in London, I feel joyful and - I don't know why, but I feel happy for some reason. I'm going to watch it with my husband and friends. I'm looking forward to it. お相撲さんは大きいです。体重は150kgぐらいあります。日本からロンドンに40人ぐらいのお相撲さんが来ます。私は日本で相撲を見たことがありますが、とてもおもしろいです。 Sumo wrestlers are huge. Their weight is around 150kg. About 40 sumo wrestlers are coming from Japan to London. I've watched sumo in Japan before, and it's very fascinating. 私は東京出身で、両国という町で生まれました。両国は相撲の町です。両国には相撲部屋がたくさんあって、お相撲さんが住んでいるからです。 I'm originally from Tokyo, born in the town called Ryogoku. Ryogoku is a sumo town. Because there are many sumo stables in Ryogoku and sumo wrestlers live there. お相撲さんは相撲部屋で家族みたいに共同生活をします。伝統的な世界なので、つらいこともあると思います。 Sumo wrestlers live together in the stables like a family. It's a traditional world, so I imagine there are tough things too. 私の家は喫茶店だったので、お相撲さんがよく昼ご飯を食べに来ていました。お相撲さんは大きくて、やさしかったのを覚えています。 My parents used to run a coffee shop, so sumo wrestlers often came for lunch. I remember the sumo wrestlers being big and kind.

Last week, I got an email from my broadband company. There will be maintenance work in October. 通信会社の名前はコミュニティー・ファイバーとです。2年前から使っています。値段とサービスはいいですが、このメンテナンスは長いです。10月7日から9日までです。私は毎日うちでZoomレッスンをしているので、困ります。 The name of the provider is Community Fiber. I've been using them for two years. The price and service are good, but this maintenance period is long. It's from October 7th to 9th. I do Zoom lessons at home every day, so this is a problem. 通信会社の説明では、メンテナンスの間もWiFiが使えなくなるわけではありません。でも、接続が悪くなったり、Zoomレッスンの途中で切れたりするのは絶対にいやです。 According to the provider, WiFi won't be completely unavailable during maintenance. It wasn't too expensive, and it said the speed would be fast, so I ordered it yesterday. I hope it arrives safely and I can set it up. And I hope the maintenance goes smoothly.

Starter Beginner Intermediate 日曜日にロンドンで日本のお祭りがありました。ジャパン祭です。 On Sunday, there was a Japanese festival in London. It was Japan Matsuri. 毎年9月にロンドンのトラファルガー広場でジャパン祭があります。私は午後3時ごろに友達といっしょに行きました。たくさんの人が来ていました。 Every September, Japan Festival is held at Trafalgar Square in London. I went with my friends around 3 PM. Lots of people visited. ステージで和太鼓のショーをやっていました。書道のデモンストレーションも見ました。私はお好み焼きを食べました。おいしかったです。抹茶の屋台がありました。抹茶は大人気でした。 There was a Japanese drum show on stage. I also saw a calligraphy demonstration. I ate okonomiyaki. It was delicious. There was a matcha stall. Matcha was very popular. ジャパン祭に行くといろいろなものがもらえます。任天堂のブースでピクミンというキャラクターのサンバイザーをもらってかぶり、日本航空(JAL)のブースでうちわをもらいました。 You can get various things when you go to Japan Matsuri. At the Nintendo booth, I got a sun visor with the Pikmin character on it and wore it, an then at the Japan Airlines (JAL) booth, I got a Japanese fan. 食べ物や飲み物の無料サンプルもありました。ヤクルトとか、ミニサイズの豆腐をもらうことができます。私はお好み焼きの屋台でソースをもらいました。お祭に来たお客さんへの特別サービスだそうです。 There were also free samples of food and drinks. You could get things like Yakult or mini-sized tofu. I got some sauce at the okonomiyaki stall. It was apparently a special service for festival visitors.

Starter Beginner Intermediate 先々週、ボランティアをしました。りんご農家の手伝いをしました。りんごをとりました。楽しかったです。 The week before last, I volunteered. I helped out at an apple farm. I picked apples. It was fun. ロンドンから車で1時間ぐらいの所に、りんご農家があります。オーナーはご夫婦です。二人の仕事はキャンプ場と、りんご農家です。キャンプ場の中にりんごの木がたくさんあります。この夫婦は私の友達の友達です。 There is an apple orchard located about an hour's drive from London. The owners are a couple. Their business is a campsite and an apple farm. There are many apple trees in the campsite. This couple are friends of a friend of mine. 友達の車で朝10時ぐらいにキャンプ場に行きました。10人ぐらい、人がいました。みんなでりんごをとりました。1時ごろにオーナー夫婦がおいしい昼ご飯をごちそうしてくれました。豆のスープと、パンと、サラダでした。プラムのケーキもいただきました。 I went to the campground around 10 AM in my friend's car. About ten people were there. We all picked apples. Around 1 PM, the owner couple offered us a delicious lunch. It was bean soup, bread, and salad. We also had plum cake. 仕事は難しくありませんでした。木からりんごを獲ったり、落ちているりんごを拾って3つのグループに分けました。きれいなりんごはファーマーズマーケットで販売されます。傷があるりんごはジュースにして売ります。虫や動物に食べられたりんごはコンポストにします。 The work wasn't difficult. We picked apples from the trees and gathered fallen apples, sorting them into three groups. The good apples will be sold at the farmers' market. Apples with scars will be made into juice to sell. Apples eaten by bugs or animals will go into the compost. 昼休みの後、3時ぐらいまで働いて、うちに帰りました。後でもらったメッセージによると、この日、獲れたりんごは500kgだったそうです。 After lunch break, we worked until around 3 PM and then headed home. According to a message I received later, apples harvested that day were 500kg.

On Sunday, I did yoga for the first time in a long time, so I was tired in the afternoon and took a nap. I want to go again. イギリスは涼しくなってきました。プールにはもう行かないと思います。 It's getting cooler in the UK. I don't think I'll go to the pool anymore. 健康のためにもっと運動をしたほうがいいと思っていますが、運動を続けることができません。 I know I should exercise more for my health, but I can't keep it up. It's fun. うちの近くにジムがあります。うちから歩いて3分ぐらいです。小さいジムですが、本当に近いから便利です。ジムには部屋が3つあります。マシーンの部屋と、ウエイトトレーニングの部屋と、女性だけの部屋です。プールはありません。値段は他のジムより安いです。私は1週間に2回ぐらい行きます。 There's a gym near my house. It's about a three-minute walk from home. It's a small gym, but it's convenient because it's really close. The gym has three rooms: a machine room, a weight training room, and a women-only room. There's no pool. The price is cheaper than other gyms. I go about twice a week. 健康のためにもっと運動しなきゃいけないと思っていたので、ジムに入ってみました。サイクリングマシーンが一番好きで、自転車をこぎながらアニメやドラマを見ています。本も読めます。 I felt I needed to exercise more for my health, so I tried joining the gym. I like exercise bike the best; I watch anime or dramas while pedalling. I can read books too. 30分運動したら汗をかいて気持ちがいいです。でも、水泳やランニングに比べて自転車はあまり疲れないから、私にちょうどいいです。そして、他の人が近くで運動しているのも励みになっていいと思いました。自分に合ったやり方が見つかって嬉しいです。 After 30 minutes of exercise, I get sweaty and feel great. But compared to swimming or running, cycling isn't too tiring, so it suits me perfectly. And seeing other people exercising nearby is motivating too. I'm glad I found a way that works for me.

Starter Beginner Intermediate 私は週末、ノルウェーのオスロに行きました。木曜日から日曜日まで旅行しました。カルダモンのパンがおいしかったです。 I went to Oslo in Norway over the weekend. I travelled from Thursday to Sunday. The cardamom bun was delicious. オスロで博物館に行きました。古い家や建物を見ました。ノルウェーの伝統的な文化や生活を見ることができて、とてもおもしろかったです。 In Oslo, I visited a museum. I saw old houses and buildings. It was very interesting to see Norway's traditional culture and lifestyle. 博物館でいろいろな文化体験ができます。私はノルウェーの昔話を聞きました。 You can try various cultural experiences at the museum. I listened to Norwegian folktales. 博物館の人はノルウェー語で昔話を聞かせてくれました。ノルウェー語はわかりませんが、話を聞きながら、これ、知ってるかもしれない・・・と思いました。 The museum staff told the tales in Norwegian. Though I don't understand Norwegian, as I listened, I thought, “I might know this one...”. 3匹の山羊の話で、日本でもよく知られています。ノルウェーの昔話だったんですね。後で聞いたら、当たっていました。特別な思い出になりました。 It was the story of the three goats, which is also well known in Japan. It turned out to be a Norwegian folktale—I didn’t know that! I asked about it later, and I was right. It became a special memory. それから、オスロの大きい図書館に行きました。絵本のコーナーで「3匹の山羊のがらがらどん」を見つけました。 Then, I went to the big library in Oslo. In the picture book corner, I found ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’.

Starter Beginner Intermediate 私は今、一人で旅行しています。ロンドンから飛行機に乗りました。ここはどこか、わかりますか？ Right now, I'm travelling on my own. I got on a plane from London. Do you know where I am? 今朝、美術館に行きました。美術館の前は海です。いい絵がたくさんあって、おもしろかったです。 This morning I went to the art gallery. It's located in front of the sea. There were many good paintings, so it was interesting. 一番有名な絵がある部屋は少し混んでいました。 The room with the most famous painting was a bit crowded. 11時から3時まで美術館にいたので、昼ご飯を食べませんでした。でも、ホテルで朝ご飯をしっかり食べたし、この国は物価が高いから、ちょうどいい節約になりました。 I was at the museum from 11 until 3, so I didn't have lunch. This allotment isn't in her garden. In English, it's called an allotment. It's a shared garden. ロンドンは大きくて、にぎやかな町ですが、私の家のまわりはみどりが多いです。広い公園や、森があります。そして、アロットメントがあちこちにあります。私は畑を持っていませんが、畑を見るのは大好きです。ときどき友達のアロットメントに遊びに行けてうれしいです。 London is a large, bustling city, but there's a lot of greenery around my house. There are big parks and woods. And allotments are here and there. I don't have my own allotment, but I love looking at them. I'm lucky to be able to visit my friend's allotment sometimes. 友達のアロットメントでいろいろな野菜や果物を見ました。夏の野菜と言えばトマトですが、トマトの赤い色は元気が出ます。 At my friend's allotment, I saw many different vegetables and fruits. When it comes to summer vegetables, tomatoes are the first thing that comes to mind, and their red colour is so uplifting. 水風船みたいな大きいトマトがありました。小さくて、かわいいトマトもありました。サンタクロースのベルみたいでした。 There were big tomatoes, like water balloons. There were also small, cute ones. They looked like Santa Claus's bells.

Starter Beginner Intermediate 先週の金曜日にロンドンの博物館に行きました。電車で東ロンドンに行きました。 I went to a museum in London last Friday. I went to East London by train. この博物館は新しいです。今年の5月にできました。博物館に家具や楽器や洋服などがありました。有名な建築家がデザインした部屋や、たくさんの人が住むための団地を見ることができました。 This museum is new. It was built in May this year. The museum had furniture, musical instruments, clothes, and other items. I was able to see rooms designed by famous architects and estates where many people live. 生活の歴史はおもしろいです。無料だから、また行きたいです。 The history of daily life is interesting. It's free, so I want to go again. この博物館はコレクションの展示方法もおもしろかったです。まるでIKEAの倉庫の中を歩いているみたいなのですが、1つ1つのセクションは不思議なコンセプトで集められた展示品が並んでいました。 The way the museum displayed its collection was also interesting. It felt like walking through an IKEA warehouse, but each section had exhibits gathered under a mysterious concept. 普通は同じ時代の物や、同じ種類の物が集まっていると思うんですが、この博物館は違います。 Usually, you'd expect items from the same era or of the same type to be grouped together, but this museum is different. しかも、展示品の説明がほとんど書かれていない（アプリで読めます）ので、がらくたの寄せ集めみたいにも見えるし、誰かの宝物みたいにも見えます。 Plus, there were hardly any explanations for the exhibits (you can read them on the app), so it looked like a random collection of junk or someone's precious treasures.

Starter Beginner Intermediate 先週は私の夏休みでした。一週間、仕事を休みました。家族とクロアチアの島に行きました。 Last week was my summer holiday. I took a week off work. I went to a Croatian island with my family. AirBnBで家を借りました。毎日、のんびり過ごしました。海で泳ぎました。それから本を読みました。 We rented a house on Airbnb. I spent each day just relaxing. I swam in the sea. Then I read books. 夜はだいたい、うちでご飯を作ってバルコニーで食べました。魚のBBQが一番おいしかったです。町にマーケットがありました。新鮮な魚を買うことができて、よかったです。 In the evening we usually cooked dinner at home and ate it on the balcony. The fish BBQ was the best. There was a market in town. It was good to be able to buy fresh fish. 最後の日にドブロブニクに寄って昼ご飯を食べ、街の中を少し歩きました。ドブロブニクは2回目でしたが、本当にきれいで、おもしろい町なので、何回行っても楽しめます。 On the last day, we stopped in Dubrovnik for lunch and walked around the city a bit. This was my second time in Dubrovnik, but it's a really beautiful and interesting town, so it's fun no matter how many times you go. 同じ町に旅行に行くと、ただいま！という感じがして、うれしいです。 Travelling back to the same place feels like a happy return, and I like that feeling.

I went to a supermarket, an household goods shop and an organic shop, and so on. 最初にスーパーに行きました。魚と肉と野菜を買いました。次に日用品の店に行きました。店にはいろいろな物があります。キッチン用品とか、ガーデニング用品とか、掃除の道具など、何でもあります。私はジョウロを買いました。 First I went to the supermarket. I bought fish, meat and vegetables. Next I went to a household goods shop. There are various things in the shop. There are kitchen utensils, gardening tools, cleaning tools, they have everything. I bought a watering pot. それから、オーガニックショップに行って、シャンプーを買いました。最後にチョコレートの店に行きました。プレゼントを買いました。カードも買いました。 Then I went to an organic shop and bought shampoo. Finally, I went to a chocolate shop. I bought gifts. I also bought a card. チョコレートのお店は私のお気に入りです。今週、息子が職場体験をしています。私の友達の会社で働かせてもらっています。お世話になったので、お礼にチョコレートを贈ろうと思っています。 The chocolate shop is my favourite. My son is doing work experience this week. My friend kindly offer him the opportunity to work at their office. Because they have been so helpful, I am thinking of giving them some chocolates as a thank-you gift.

Starter Beginner Intermediate ロンドンのカフェでフルーツサンドを食べました。すてきなお店でした。いちごのサンドイッチはおいしかったです。 I had a fruit sandwich at a café in London. It was a lovely place. The strawberry sandwich was delicious. この写真は今年の5月に撮りました。この日、私は仕事でイーストロンドンに行きました。電車とバスで行って、30分ぐらい早く着きました。 I took this picture in May. On that day I went to East London for work. I went by train and bus and arrived about half an hour early. 仕事まで少し時間があったので、コーヒーを飲もうと思って、近くのカフェに入りました。Uchi Bakeというカフェで、日本人の方がやっているようです。おいしそうなパンがいろいろありました。いちごのサンドイッチがあって、うれしかったです。 I had some time before work, so I decided to have a coffee and went into a nearby café called Uchi Bake, which seems to be run by a Japanese person. There was a range of delicious-looking pastries. I was happy to see strawberry sandwiches. フルーツサンドは日本では人気があります。最近、イギリスのM&Sというスーパーで売っています。 Fruit sandwiches are popular in Japan. Recently it is sold in supermarkets called M&S in the UK. イギリスの人にはフルーツサンドは変な感じがするかもしれませんが、苺と生クリームの組み合わせはイギリスでも定番です。特にウィンブルドンのテニスの会場で食べるのが、夏の伝統だそうです。M&Sの苺クリームサンドイッチはウィンブルドンシーズンの限定メニューとして発売されました。 Fruit sandwiches may seem strange to British people, but the combination of strawberries and whipped cream is a classic in the UK. Apparently it's a summer tradition, especially to eat it at the Wimbledon tennis stadium, and M&S's strawberry cream sandwich was sold as a limited edition for the Wimbledon season. 私も一度食べてみたいんですが、いつも売り切れです。ウィンブルドンが終わるまでに食べられるか、わかりません。 I'd love to try, but they are always sold out. I don't know if I will be able to eat it before the Wimbledon tournament ends.
