Goal and Approach

This is suitable for students working towards GCSE Foundation Tier and also covers challenging GCSE topics. English and Japanese scripts are provided to support you, and you can pick up new vocabulary while listening. How the scripts are presented, and whether additional questions are included, varies by exercise.

For those studying Japanese for the first time, listening is really tough until you get used to the sound. Vocabulary skills vary a lot, and that has a big effect on listening ability too. The worksheets are carefully designed so that students can predict unclear parts from the overall context and break down chunks of sound into meaning. Activities to revise vocabulary are also included.
