来月、日本で選挙があります。私はイギリスに住んでいます。でも投票に行きます。大使館で投票できます。

Next month, there will be an election in Japan. I live in the UK. But I will vote. I can vote at the embassy.

私はインターネットで日本のニュースを見ています。ときどき政治のニュースを読みます。最近、選挙の時はマッチングサイトを見ます。投票マッチングは便利です。

I watch Japanese news online. I sometimes read political news. Recently, during election periods, I look at matching sites. Vote matching is useful.

日本には大きい政党が1つあります。自民党です。選挙で自民党に投票したい人は簡単ですが、自民党に投票したくない人は、たくさんリサーチしなければいけません。政党が多いし、新しい政党や、名前が変わった政党もあって、わかりにくいからです。

Japan has one major party: the Jiminto. For those wishing to vote for them in the election, it's straightforward. However, those not wishing to vote for them must do a lot of research. This is because there are many parties, including new ones and parties that have changed their names, so it can be confusing.

でも、今はマッチングで選べるようになりました。オンラインで質問に答えます。20個ぐらい質問があります。政策についての質問です。1つの質問に賛成か、だいたい賛成か、ちょっと反対か、ぜったいに反対か、どちらでもないの5つの中から私の意見を選びます。この時、質問の意味がわからなかったら、その政策について説明を読むこともできます。最後にボタンを押すと、マッチしている政党がわかります。

But now, I can choose using matching services. I answer questions online. There are about 20 questions. Questions about policies. For each question, I choose my opinion from five options: agree, mostly agree, somewhat disagree, strongly disagree, or neither agree nor disagree. If I don't understand a question, I can read an explanation of that policy. At the end, I press a button and find out which parties match my views.
