Last week I went to see the castle by car. It has a large garden. The flowers were beautiful. There was an interesting thing in the garden.

There is a river in the big garden and this small gazebo in front of the river. There were bookshelves and a desk in it. The large windows were lovely. The castle was built in the 16th century, but this one is rather new and was built in 1969. It is said to be the same size as the Apollo 11 spaceship. It reminded me of the Japanese Apollo Chocolates. Apollo Chocolate was also a product made in 1969.

There are many historic buildings in the UK and they are run by a volunteer organisation called the National Trust. I went to a castle called Sissinghurst, which is about a two-hour drive from London. It is an old castle that has been disused for a long time, but around 1930 a couple of writers bought it and created a lovely garden. You can enjoy the English garden. It was their son who built Apollo 11 in the garden.

先週、車でお城を見に行きました。広い庭があります。花がきれいでした。庭におもしろいたてものがありました。

広い庭に川があって、川の前にこの小さい建物があります。建物の中に本棚と机がありました。大きい窓がすてきでした。お城は16世紀ぐらいにできましたが、この建物は割と新しくて、1969年に建てたそうです。宇宙船のアポロ11号と同じサイズに作られているそうです。私は日本のアポロチョコレートを思い出しました。アポロチョコも、1969年にできた商品です。

イギリスには歴史的な建物がたくさんあって、ナショナル・トラストというボランティア団体が運営しています。私が行ったのはロンドンから車で2時間ぐらいの、シシングハーストというお城です。古い城ですが長い間使われていなかったそうです。1930年ごろに作家の夫婦が買い取ってすてきな庭を作りました。イングリッシュガーデンを楽しむことができます。庭にアポロ11号を作ったのは息子だそうです。
