4月4日に日本に来ました。日本の家族に会いました。家族といっしょに千葉県の九十九里に行きました。
I arrived in Japan on 4 April. I met up with my family here. Together with my family, I went to Kujukuri in Chiba Prefecture.
九十九里は海辺の町です。とてもしずかなところです。私たちはまず、和菓子屋さんに行きました。さくらもちと大福を買いました。それから定食屋に行って、昼ご飯を食べました。古くて小さい店でした。私はアジ丼を食べました。魚が新鮮で、おいしかったです。
Kujukuri is a seaside town. It’s a very peaceful place. First, we went to a traditional Japanese sweets shop. We bought some sakura mochi and daifuku. Then we went to a set-meal restaurant for lunch. It was an old, small shop, but the food was delicious. I had a horse mackerel rice bowl. The fish was fresh and tasty.
九十九里で友達夫婦が和菓子屋さんをやっています。私はイギリスに住んでいますが、日本に帰った時にときどき会いに行きます。店の中はお客さんがどんどん入って来て、忙しそうでした。お店をやっている友達は、約束しなくても店に行けば会えるので、うれしいです。
My friends, a married couple, run a Japanese sweets shop in Kujukuri. I live in the UK, but I sometimes visit them when I return to Japan. Customers were coming in one after another, the shop seemed busy. I’m pleased that I can see my friends who run the shop whenever I visit, without arranging it beforehand.
九十九里は海岸の名前です。とても長い海岸で66kmぐらいだそうです。「里」は昔の長さの単位です。
Kujukuri is the name of the coastline. It is a very long coastline, apparently about 66 km.‘里(ri)’ is an old unit of length.









面白い話ですね。 つまり、66里は約99キロということですか:)
