テレビを買いました。新しいテレビでオリンピックを見ています。

We bought a television. We're watching the Olympics on the new telly.

うちに古いテレビがありました。古いからスクリーンの調子が悪かったです。新しいテレビは前のより大きくて、きれいです。

There was an old television in our house. It was old, so the screen wasn't working properly. The new television is bigger and clearer than the previous one.

今、イタリアで冬のオリンピックをやっています。私はきのう女子のフィギュアスケートを見ました。アメリカの選手が金メダルを獲りました。日本の選手は銀メダルと銅メダルでした。みんなすばらしい演技でした。

Currently, the Winter Olympics are taking place in Italy. Yesterday, I watched the women's figure skating. The American skater won the gold medal. The Japanese skaters won the silver and bronze medals. All the performances were wonderful.

オリンピックは日本の選手が活躍するとうれしいし、日本を応援しながら世界のアスリートを見るのはおもしろいです。あと、オリンピックの時は友達と共通の話題が増えるから、会話やチャットが楽しいです。

I feel happy when Japanese athletes do well at the Olympics, and it's fascinating to watch the world's athletes while cheering for Japan. Also, during the Olympics, I have more things to talk about with friends, and chatting and messaging becomes fun.

ただ、一回見始めるとテレビの前から動けなくなります。先週と今週はジムに行けていません。ジムに行ってもたぶん携帯でライブ配信を見られると思いますが、夫と一緒に家で見る方が楽しいからです。

The only problem is, once I start watching, I can't move from in front of the telly. I haven't been to the gym last week or this week. I suppose I could watch the live streams on my phone even if I went to the gym, but it's more enjoyable watching at home with my husband.
