私は本が好きです。趣味は読書です。今、イギリスの古い小説を読んでいます。
I love books. My hobby is reading. I'm currently reading an old British novel.
本の名前は「嵐が丘」で、英語のタイトルはWuthering Heightsです。1847年にエミリー・ブロンテという人が書きました。今、本を読んでいます！と言いましたが、本当はオーディオで聞いています。いつも料理をする時に聞きます。おもしろいです。
The book's name is Wuthering Heights. It was written in 1847 by a person called Emily Brontë. I said I'm reading the book now, but actually I'm listening to it on audio. I always listen to it while cooking. It's interesting.
この本を読んだきっかけは映画です。最近、映画になったので、町のいろいろな場所でポスターを見ます。私の知り合いで、この映画を見た人はあまりおもしろくなかったと言っていました。
The reason I started reading this book was the film. It became a film recently, so I see posters for it in various places around town. An acquaintance of mine who saw the film said it wasn't particularly interesting.
でもある時、私はポッドキャストの番組で偶然に「嵐が丘」の本について話しているのを聞きました。本に出てくる人や、イギリスの歴史について聞いているうちに、おもしろそうだと思って読みたくなりました。
But then, I was listening to a podcast programme and coincidentally heard someone talking about the book Wuthering Heights. As I listened to them discuss the characters in the book and the history of England, it sounded interesting and I felt like reading it.
映画を見たか、見ないか、好きか、嫌いかは別として、原作が話題になって本を読むきっかけになったわけです。私みたいに「嵐が丘」読んでいる人が他にもいるような気がします。
Regardless of whether I'd seen the film or not, someone liked it or not, the original work became a popular topic and that became my reason for reading the book. I feel like there might be other people reading Wuthering Heights like me.
