週末に友達の家に行きました。友達の家にたこやき器があります。4家族で、たこやきパーティーをしました。
I went to a friend’s house at the weekend. They have a takoyaki maker at home. The four families got together and had a takoyaki party.
うちの近くに日本人の友達が住んでいます。イギリス人と結婚しています。あと、イギリス人の夫婦もいます。私のうちは日本人夫婦です。みんな友達です。
Japanese friends live near my house. They’re married to British people. There’s also a British couple. My family is a Japanese couple. We’re all friends.
イギリス人夫婦の友達は今年の夏に日本に旅行に行きました。食べ物がおいしくて、楽しかったと言っていました。特に、大阪のたこやきが本当においしかったと言っていました。イギリスでもたこやきを食べることができます。スーパーには冷凍食品のたこやきがあります。でも、たこやきを家で作るのが、いちばんおいしいです。
Our British friends went on a trip to Japan this summer. They said the food was delicious and they had a great time. In particular, they said the takoyaki in Osaka was absolutely delicious. You can eat takoyaki in the UK too. Supermarkets sell frozen takoyaki. However, takoyaki tastes best when you make it at home.
家でたこ焼きをつくるために必要な道具が3つあります。たこ焼き器とガスコンロと串です。たこ焼き器は鉄板で、小さくて丸い穴がたくさんあいています。コンロはキャンプに行く人は持っているかもしれません。たこ焼きはテーブルの上にコンロを置いて、作りながら食べます。たこ焼きをひっくり返す時に「串」を使います。アイスピックみたいな形です。串が4本ぐらいあると、みんなで作れるから楽しいです。
There are three essential items for making takoyaki at home: a takoyaki pan, a gas hob and skewers. The takoyaki pan is an iron plate with lots of small, round holes. People who go camping might have a gas hob. You place the hob on the table and eat the takoyaki as you make them. You use ‘skewers’ to flip the takoyaki. They’re shaped a bit like ice picks. If you have about four skewers, it’s fun because everyone can join in.
たこ焼きの鉄板はオンラインの店で買えます。串はイギリスではどこで買えばいいのか、わかりませんが、友達は日本の100円ショップで買ったそうです。私もたこ焼き器が欲しいです。
You can buy takoyaki pans from online shops. I’m not sure where to buy the skewers in the UK, but my friend said they bought them from a Japanese 100-yen shop. I’d like have a takoyaki pan.
