週末に旅行をしました。スコットランドのグラスゴーに行きました。

I went on a trip at the weekend. I visited Glasgow in Scotland. I went to Glasgow from London by aeroplane.

ロンドンから飛行機でグラスゴーに行きました。AirBnBに2泊、泊まりました。金曜日はグラスゴー大学の近くを散歩しました。古い大学の建物がすてきでした。いいカフェがありました。店の中がおもしろくて、コーヒーがおいしかったです。バリスタは日本人の女性でした。

I went to Glasgow from London by aeroplane. I stayed in an Airbnb for two nights. On Friday, I went for a walk near the University of Glasgow. The old university buildings were splendid.

There was a lovely café. The interior was amusing, and the coffee was delicious. The barista was a Japanese lady.

土曜日の朝、大聖堂を見に行きました。大聖堂の後ろに丘があって、丘の上から町を見ることができました。景色がよかったです。夜はサッカーを見ました。日本とスコットランドの試合です。日本が勝ちました！

On Saturday morning, I went to see the cathedral. There was a hill behind the cathedral, and I could see the town from the top of it. The view was lovely. In the evening, I watched a football match. It was between Japan and Scotland. Japan won!

日曜日は雨でした。博物館と美術館に行きました。グラスゴーの有名な建築家、マッキントッシュの作品を見ました。

It rained on Sunday. I went to a museum and an art gallery. I saw works by Mackintosh, a famous architect from Glasgow.

スコットランドは今まで何回か行ったことがありましたが、グラスゴーは初めてでした。建物がきれいで道が広くて、いい町だなあと思いました。ロンドンみたいに人が多くないのでのんびり歩くことができました。

I’ve been to Scotland a few times before, but this was my first time in Glasgow. The buildings were beautiful and the streets were wide; I thought it was a lovely town. As it wasn’t as crowded as London, I was able to stroll around at a leisurely pace.

私がいたエリアはウエストエンドと呼ばれていて、静かで、町の中心まで歩いていける便利なところでした。昼間でも道を歩いている人が少なくて不思議な感じがしました。でも、レストランやカフェがたくさんあって、店に入るとにぎやかです。地元の人たちが楽しそうに友達とおしゃべりしているのが印象的でした。

The area I stayed in was called the West End; it was quiet and convenient, as you could walk to the city centre. It felt a bit strange that there were so few people on the streets even during the day. However, there were plenty of restaurants and cafés, and it was lively inside them. Seeing the locals chatting happily with their friends made quite an impression on me.
